Work and Careers
Sometimes we say that someone we know is “a square peg in a round hole”. This simply means that the person we are talking about is not suited for the job he is doing. He may be a book keeper who really wants to be an actor or a mechanic who likes cooking. Unfortunately, many people in the world are ‘square pegs’: they are not doing the kind of work they should be doing, for one reason or another. As a result, they probably are not doing a very good job and certainly they are not happy.
Choosing the right career is very important. Most of us spend a great par of our lives at our job. For that reason we should try to find out what our talents are and how we can use them. We can do this trough aptitude test, interviews with specialist, and study of book in our field of interest.
There are many careers open to each us. Perhaps we like science, then we might prepare ourselves to be chemists, physicists, or biologists. May be our interest take us into the business world and such work as accounting, personnel management or public relations. Many persons find their place in government service. Teaching, newspaper work, medicine, engineering, offer fascinating careers to persons with talent and training.

Our vicar is always raising money for one cause or another, but he has never managed to get enough money to have the church clock repaired. The big clock which used to strike the hours day and night was damaged during the war and has been silent ever since.
One night, however, our vicar woke up; the clock was striking the hours! Looking at his watch, he saw that it was one o’clock, but the bell struck thirteen times before it stopped. Armed with a torch, the vicar went up into the clock tower to see what was going on. In the torchlight, he caught sight of a figure that he immediately recognized as Bill Wilkins, our local grocer.
“What are you doing up here Bill Wilkins?” asked the Bill Wilkins in surprised.
“I’m trying to repair the bell,” answered Bill Wilkins. “I’ve been coming up here night after night for weeks now. You see, I was hoping to give you a surprise.”
“You certainly did give me a surprise!” said the vicar. “You’ve probably woken up everyone in the village as well. Still, I’m glad the bell is working again.”
“That’s the trouble vicar.’ Answered Bill. “It’s working all right, but I’m afraid that at one o’clock it will strike thirteen times and there is nothing I can do about it.”
“We’ll get used to that Bill Wilkins.” Said the vicar. “Thirteen is not as good as one, but it’s better then nothing. Now let’s go downstairs and have a cup of tea.”

I’m a half mad
It was a fruit seasons. Almost all people at that country planted fruit trees. So did Nasreddin. He had a lot of grapes trees. He picked two baskets full of grapes and wanted to sell the grapes to the market. He put the two baskets on his donkey and brought them to the market.
It was a very hot midday. The market was still far before him. He stopped and had a drink in the food stall nearby. Then several men with several donkeys bringing grapes came and took a rest at the same food stall. After having lunch, they fell asleep. Nasreddin did not fell asleep. Seeing the men were sleeping, he went out. He began taking out some grapes from the men’s baskets putting then into his.
